Global perspective & Industry Cooperation

Foreword

Our COM, founded in 2008, is the newest public business school in Taiwan. Even so, located in the center of Taipei, our business school was ranked number 4 by the Taiwanese media in 2014. According to the results of college entrance exams, the COM competes with Taiwan’s top ranking universities: National Central University, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and National Taiwan University. Our business school consists of two graduate institutes, the Graduate Institute of Management and the Graduate Institute of Global Business and Strategy, an Executive MBA program, and an undergraduate program of Business Administration. We have about 40 full time and part time faculty and we are still expanding our faculty pool. The major research concentrations of our faculty include Finance, Marketing, International Business, Strategy, Accounting, Economics, Information Management, Technology Management, Asia Business, and so on. The COM positions itself as an exemplary educational institution in Taipei, with a key focus on innovation and providing an internationalized student experience. Its unique character is embodied in the following aspects:

Qualified faculty

Since our COM was established later than in other institutions, we are honored to have been able to recruit experienced faculty at its foundation.

Balance between humanity and expertise courses

Unlike other schools, our COM students are provided with innovative choices such as by allowing students to combine courses from NTNU's humanities and art, they study courses in Business Management for Cultural and Creative Industries, and Management of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, as well as studies in Creative Design.

Global perspective

In each academic year, we admit about 35 local students and about 10 international students to our MBA programs, and about 40 local and 10 international students to our undergraduate program. In particular, we launched a new program named the Dual International MBA (DIMBA) program which cooperates with Darla Moore Business School of University of South Carolina (USC) in 2015. We jointly initiate a one-year dual degree MBA program recruiting students worldwide to take courses at the campuses of NTNU and USC.

Industry Cooperation

We strive to maintain our relationships with the Taiwanese government. Between 2013 and 2016, we had 60 industry cooperation cases with Ministry of Science and Technology, and 24 industry.
